Date of publication: 11 February 2019

Transneft Volga Region has completed routine repairs on the Bavly — Kuybyshev and Kuybyshev — Lisichansk oil trunk pipelines (OTP).

Repairs on the Krotovka — Novokuybyshevsk Refinery section were carried out during the scheduled suspension of oil pumping through the Bavly — Kuybyshev oil trunk pipeline. Within 48 hours specialists from the Central Maintenance Division of Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) cut out two defects on the line and a substandard air escape valve. The two air escape valves on the line are eliminated by installing repair structures.

With a reduced mode of oil transportation along the Kuybyshev — Lisichansk OTP on the Samara — Krasny Yar section, specialists of Samara RPD dismantled the mainline pump unit No.2 for subsequent replacement at Sovkhoznaya-3 oil pumping station (PS). At Borodayevka-2 PS specialists from Saratov RPD replaced three check valves. The repairs took 72 hours to finish.

All the planned repairs were carried out as part of the comprehensive technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme being implemented by Transneft Volga Region to maintain the standard operating parameters of oil trunk pipelines.

Oil transportation via Transneft Volga Region’s OTPs was resumed according to the schedule.
