Transneft Volga Region has completed scheduled maintenance at operational and line facilities of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk, the Kuleshovka – Kuibyshev, the Krotovka – Kuibyshev and the Bavly – Kuibyshev oil trunk pipelines (OTP).
The works took place within the area of responsibility of Samara, Saratov and Volgograd Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates (RPD).
Professionals dismantled main pump unit (MPU) No. 2 at Samara-1 oil pumping station (PS) for further replacement and connected a flow control unit to the inlet header of vertical steel tank (VST) No. 31 at the oil blending station of Samara site.
Midlife repairs of eight station’s stop valves were carried out, and five defects as well as a bypass line with pressure control unit’s stop valves were cut out at Krasnoarmeyskaya-1 PS. While the work was in process, the Samara – Zenzevatka section of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline operated in a reduced oil transportation mode.
In addition to that, midlife repairs of two gate valves were accomplished at a pipeline clean-up and inspection gadget (PIG) trap of a standby leg of the Kuibyshev - Tikhoretsk OTP’s underwater crossing of the Cheprak River. The works were completed without reducing the oil pumping mode within the Zenzevatka – 1193 km section.
During a scheduled shutdown of the Kuleshovka – Kuibyshev and the Bavly – Kuibyshev OTPs, two air escape valves and one line defect were cut out.
The scheduled activities were carried out under the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme (TUR&OH) implemented by Transneft Volga Region in order to ensure fault- and accident-free operation of the pipeline transportation facilities.
The oil transportation was resumed on schedule and is currently going on in standard mode.
