Transneft Volga Region has implemented a package of measures in order to ensure fire safety of onsite facilities in Samara, Saratov and Volgograd Regions.
Construction of two fire water tanks was completed at Volgograd Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD). A vertical steel tank (VST) with a 5,000 m3 capacity was built at Yefimovka line operation dispatcher station (LODS), and a 3,000 m3 tank was built at Krasnyi Yar LODS. Construction of the tanks began in March this year to ensure that the required volume of fire water is available at the facilities.
Following a technical upgrading of Krasnoarmeyskaya-2 and Grachi-3 oil pumping stations (PS) belonging to Saratov RPD, four 100 m3 horisontal steel tanks (HST) for foam solution storage were commissioned there, two tanks at each PS. Special treatment was applied to the inner walls of the HSTs to ensure their protection against chemically active components of the foam solution.
Two 100 m3 HSTs for fire water storage were commissioned at Lyubetskaya modular group pumping station (MGPS), following a technical upgrading. Technical upgrading of two fire water tanks, each with a 50 m3 capacity, was completed at Satarovskaya PS of Volgograd RPD.
All the tanks were commissioned as part of Transneft Volga Region’s technical upgrading and revamping (TUR) programme after having successfully passed hydraulic tests.
Fire water tanks are currently under construction at five more facilities of Samara, Volgograd and Buguruslan RPDs.
In addition to that, construction of a firehouse at Krotovka LODS and a fire fighting pumping station at the oil blending station (OBS) of Samara LODS has started this year within the technical upgrading and revamping programme. Technical upgrading of the firehouse accommodating four vehicles is going on at the OBS, and technical upgrading of a firehouse with a garage and residential premises is underway at Samara-2 PS. The new firehouses will be provided with state-of-the-art equipment. These facilities are located in Samara Region. Their commissioning is scheduled for Q2 – Q3 of 2019.
