Transneft Volga Region Performs Routine Repairs at Oil Trunk Pipelines

Transneft Volga Region has completed routine repairs at the line portion and facilities of oil trunk pipelines (OTPs).

On 3 to 6 July 2018, specialists of the Central Maintenance Division (CMD) at Ternovka-1 oil pumping station (PS) affiliated with Saratov Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) carried out hydraulic testing of a pressure manifold, mounted the piping for temporary PIG traps at a supply pipeline and replaced a gate valve.

At Novomlinovo PS, CMD specialists from Volgograd RPD cut out a main pump unit to be subsequently replaced with a new one.

The set of works at two pumping stations was performed with reduced oil pumping at the Samara-Zenzevatka section of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP within 96 hours.

On the same days, CMD crews of Volgograd RPD eliminated a substandard welded element at a process pipeline of Kuzmichi-1 PS. Yekaterinovka 1 line operation dispatcher station (LODS) saw removal of a bypass line in a pressure control unit. The bypass line was not engaged in oil pumping. The work was done during a 96-hour shutdown of the Zenzevatka – 1193 km section of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP.

The scheduled work was done within the scope of the integrated technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Volga Region in order to maintain rated functioning parameters of oil trunk pipelines.
