Transneft Volga Region Allocates about RUB 12.4 Million for Implementation of Events Dedicated to Year of Memory and Glory

Transneft Volga Region has summed up the results of the themed events implemented in the Year of Memory and Glory which was announced in the Russian Federation in 2020 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Throughout the year, the company provided charitable assistance for the reconstruction and repair of monuments and memorials to war heroes; its employees participated in volunteer campaigns, helped veterans.

During the entire anniversary year, the repair of sculptural compositions, landscaping of adjacent territories and reconstruction of military graves were carried out. The company helped to repair more than 30 monuments and memorials in Orenburg, Samara, Saratov and Volgograd Regions, as well as in the Republic of Tatarstan. More than RUB 12.4 million were allocated for these purposes.

In particular, the Eternal Flame memorial complex and the Wall of Memory in Marks, Saratov Region, were repaired. Work on the memorial in memory of fallen compatriot soldiers at Victory Square in Krasnoarmeysk was carried out. A monument to participants of the Great Patriotic War was opened in Krasnoarmeyskoye Settlement of Engels Municipal District with the financial support of the company.

In Buguruslan, Orenburg Region, the main memorial complex with the Monument of Military Glory was renovated. Monuments were repaired in Zavyalovka, Krasnoyarka and Kiryushkino Settlements of Buguruslan District. In Tatarskaya Tumbarla Settlement of Bavly District, the Republic of Tatarstan, the monument to soldiers who died at the Great Patriotic War frontlines was reconstructed; the Eternal Flame was first lit.

During the year, monuments were repaired and the grave sites of Soviet soldiers were improved in homesteads and settlements in 9 municipal districts of Volgograd Region.

In Samara Region, a memorial complex in Syzran and the Glory monument in the centre of Kinel-Cherkassy Settlement, as well as monuments in Staraya Racheyka and Domashka Settlements were repaired.

In addition, Transneft Volga Region allocated charitable funds for the design and manufacture of 30 memorial plaques in honor of Kuybyshev Heroes of the Soviet Union. The project to preserve the memory of Samara heroes was implemented at the initiative of the City District Administration, the Samara city non-governmental organisation of veterans (pensioners) of war, labour, armed forces and law enforcement agencies with the support of Transneft Volga Region.

During the year, the company’s employees and their family members took part in themed voluntary campaigns. As part of the Gift to Veteran and Dialogue of Generations campaigns, food sets and necessary household items were donated to war veterans and homefront workers. On the eve of the Defender of the Fatherland Day, young specialists of the company visited veterans and presented them with gifts. At the same time, all the necessary sanitary standards were observed.

As part of the Victory Windows nationwide campaign, in all regions where the operating facilities of the company are located, employees together with their children decorated the windows of houses and apartments with symbols of the Victory Day and portraits of their relatives who were participants of the Great Patriotic War. A children's drawings competition dedicated to the anniversary of the Great Victory was held in the company's business units.
