Transneft Urals has commissioned new mainline pump unit at the Yekaterinovka line operation dispatcher station (LODS) in Salsk District of Rostov Region.
Pumping equipment replacement works at the facility took 6 months as part of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme.
The old pump was dismantled as its service life had come to an end. The installed equipment is characterised by high efficiency and extended overhaul intervals. The mainline pump unit produced by Transneft Oil Pumps (Chelyabinsk) weighs 7 tonnes and has a pumping capacity of 3.6 thousand m3 of oil per hour. For comparison, the capacity of the pump allows to pump a volume of oil equivalent to 50 tank cars with the capacity of 70 m3 each.
The connection of the pump was carried out during the scheduled 72-hour shutdown of oil transportation via the Zenzevatka – Tikhoretsk section of the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP). After completion of the work, oil transportation was resumed as per schedule and is conducted under the standard protocol.
After completion of comprehensive testing, the mainline pump was commissioned at the Yekaterinovka LODS.
The works were carried out in order to increase the operational reliability of the station equipment and maintain uninterrupted oil transportation via the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP.
