Transneft Volga Region has become a winner of the Heritage of the Province 2020 regional contest in the Industry category. The award ceremony took place at the Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Director General Dmitry Buzlaev received a certificate and a commemorative statuette on behalf of the team.
The contest was organised by the Public Chamber of Samara Region and the Samara Regional Broadcasting Agency with the support of the Government of Samara Region. In 2020, the contest was held in 7 categories. The contest's organising committee reviewed 291 applications, including 30 applications in the Industry category.
The purpose of the contest is to draw the attention of Samara public and the Russian business community to activities of companies operating in the Samara market, increase the investment attractiveness of the region and integrate Samara Region into the Russian economy.
Transneft Volga Region, one of the largest subsidiaries of Transneft, transports about 1/3 of oil produced in Russia via the pipeline system in Tatarstan, Orenburg, Samara, Saratov, Volgograd and Rostov Regions. Oil from various fields is mixed at the company’s facilities to bring the quality to the required standards and its further supply to Russian refineries and for export. Transneft Volga Region creates new jobs, participates in the social life of the regions, implements charitable programmes, including in the territory of Samara Region. The company’s head office is located in Samara.
The Heritage of the Province contest has been held annually since 2017. The main criteria for evaluating the participants of the contest are openness, representation in the region and beyond, the duration of the company’s operation, as well as business innovation.
Based on the submitted applications, the winners are determined by an independent Expert Board consisting of representatives of the Government of Samara Region, commissions of the Public Chamber of Samara Region, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Samara Region, and the Samara Regional Broadcasting Agency.
