Based on the results of an external surveillance audit, Transneft Volga Region has confirmed compliance with international standards of its occupational health and safety management systems, environmental management, energy management systems for compliance with the requirements of international standards ОHSAS 18001:2007 (ISO 45001:2018), ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2011 (ISO 50001:2018).
The audit was carried out by a group of auditors of an internationally recognised Russian certification and expert organisation in the executive office of the Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) in Samara and at the Bolshaya Chernigovka oil pumping station in Samara Region.
The planning and management of operational processes, the ability of the management systems to ensure compliance with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements, the availability of resources necessary to maintain and continually improve the management systems and the effectiveness of internal and external communication were assessed.
In the field of occupational health, the introduction of mobile units of satellite video surveillance, which makes it possible to monitor compliance with industrial safety and occupational health requirements, technological discipline at remote facilities online, was noted as an achievement. The company was recognised as the winner of the contest of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation for the best socially oriented company in the oil and gas industry 2020 in the Communication Programme to Improve the Culture of Occupational Health and Safety category. Transneft Volga Region also took third place in the XII Regional Review Contest for the best organisation of occupational health activities in Samara Region among production companies with headcount exceeding 500 employees.
Among the effective environmental measures, the auditors named the reduction of specific air pollutant emissions, the revamping of treatment facilities. Transneft Volga Region was awarded the 3rd degree certificate in the Industrial Giant category of the EcoLeader of Samara Region 2019 contest.
In the energy saving field, the auditors noted the oil transportation mode optimisation, the replacement of mainline pump units at the Buguruslan and Erzovka modular group pumping stations, and the equipment of motor vehicles with the GLONASS/GPS system.
Transneft Volga Region fulfills all the requirements necessary for the implementation of the policy in the field of occupational health, energy efficiency, industrial and environmental safety. According to the audit results, no inconsistencies for all management systems were identified, certificates of compliance with occupational health and safety management, environmental management, and energy management system were confirmed.
The certification body was recommended by the auditors to issue certificates of conformity according to the updated ISO 45001:2018 (occupational safety and health), ISO 50001:2018 (energy management) standards.
