Transneft Volga Region Releases More Than 53 Thousand Juveniles of Valuable Fish Species into Water Bodies of Samara and Saratov Regions

Transneft Volga Region has released wild carp and sterlet juveniles into the Saratov reservoir. The environmental measures were carried out in Samara and Saratov Regions.

In total, 49.2 thousand sterlet juveniles and 4.3 thousand wild carp juveniles were released. The work was carried out under the supervision of representatives of territorial directorate of the Russian Federal Agency for Fishery, who confirmed the satisfactory condition of the juveniles.

The environmental compensatory events on artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources were held under the corporate programme for biological diversity preservation in the areas of Transneft facilities’ operation for 2019–2021.

Since the beginning of 2020, Transneft Volga Region has released more than 115 thousand juveniles of sterlet, wild carp and Russian sturgeon into the Volgograd and Saratov reservoirs, as well as into the Medveditsa and Don Rivers. Until the end of October, it is planned to release 46.5 thousand more juveniles of wild carp and silver carp into the reservoirs of Samara, Saratov and Rostov Regions.
