Transneft Volga Region Completes Scheduled Repairs of Two Oil Trunk Pipelines

Transneft Volga Region has completed scheduled repairs at the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk and the Mukhanovo – Kuybyshev oil trunk pipelines (OTP) in Samara, Saratov and Volgograd Regions.

Specialists from the Buguruslan Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) cut out four defects within 60 hours during a scheduled shutdown of the Mukhanovo – Kuybyshev oil trunk pipeline.

Specialists of the Volgograd RPD cut out mainline pump unit No.2 at the Tinguta oil pumping station for subsequent replacement. The works were completed within 48 hours during a scheduled shutdown of oil transportation via the Zenzevatka – 1193rd km section of the Kuybyshev – Tihoretsk OTP.

In addition, a gate valve of the standby leg of the underwater crossing of the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline via the Bolshoy Irgiz River was replaced. The works were carried out within 60 hours without changing the oil transportation mode through the standby leg of the underwater crossing.

The repairs were conducted as part of implementation of the comprehensive technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Volga Region.

Oil transportation through the oil trunk pipelines was resumed on schedule and is currently carried out under the standard protocol.

Scheduled repairs and maintenance of facilities of the oil trunk pipeline system allow Transneft Volga Region to maintain the high level of reliability of the oil transportation process.
