Transneft Volga Region has become a winner of the EcoLider 2019 regional contest. The contest was held in 14 categories. The company was awarded the 3rd degree Diploma in the Industrial Giant category.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Forestry, Environmental Protection and Nature Management of Samara Region. In total, 413 applications were submitted to the EcoLider 2019 competition, 50 nominees received awards and memorable diplomas.
The EcoLider contest has been held since 2000 in order to encourage organisations, municipalities and citizens with significant achievements in environmental protection and nature management in the region. The event was designed to promote the dissemination of positive practical experience in ecology and increase the ecological culture of the population of Samara Region.
Every year, Transneft Volga Region pays great attention to environmental safety, compliance with environmental laws and regulations and development of a responsible attitude towards nature. The key environmental activity areas include revamping of treatment plants, purchase of equipment for containment and elimination of emergency oil spills, along with holding themed volunteer campaigns.
In total, in 2019, more than RUB 389 million were allocated by the company for the implementation of a set of measures designed to ensure environmental safety.
The awards ceremony for winners and prize-winners of the EcoLider 2019 contest will take place after the restrictions related to the spread of the coronavirus infection are lifted in Samara Region.
