Transneft Volga Region Completes Scheduled Repairs of Oil Trunk Pipeline in Volgograd and Rostov Regions

Transneft Volga Region has completed scheduled repairs at the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP) in Volgograd and Rostov Regions.

During the scheduled 72-hour shutdown of the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline, as part of the revamping, two gate valves were replaced and midlife repairs of one gate valve were performed at the Zenzevatka oil pumping station (OPS).

A range of work on the replacement of process pipelines and gate valves was performed at the Kuzmichi line operation dispatcher station (LODS).

The installation of temporary pipeline clean-up and inspection gadget traps (PIG traps) at the Zimovniki OPS supply oil pipeline was completed for in-line inspection.

253 specialists were involved in the works, 166 pieces of equipment were used.

The repairs were conducted as part of the implementation of the comprehensive technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Volga Region. The goal was to ensure uninterrupted and safe operation of trunk pipelines.

Oil transportation through the oil trunk pipeline was resumed on schedule and is currently carried out under the standard protocol.
