Transneft Volga Region Completes Scheduled Repairs at Pipelines

Transneft Volga Region has completed scheduled repairs at the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk, Saratov – Kuzmichi, Bavly – Kuybyshev, Sernye Vody – Krotovka oil trunk pipelines, as well as at onsite facilities.

During a scheduled 24-hour shutdown of the Bavly – Kuybyshev oil trunk pipeline, specialists of the Buguruslan Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate performed midlife repairs of a gate valve at the Bavly – Krotovka section, as well as midlife repairs of another gate valve at the Bavly OPS.

During a scheduled 24-hour shutdown, midlife repairs of two gate valves were conducted at the Sernye Vody – Krotovka oil trunk pipeline.

Specialists from the Volgograd RPD cut out two disconnected pressure taps, as well as five defects at the Saratov – Kuzmichi OTP under the lowered oil transportation mode.

Under the lowered oil transportation mode via the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP, a defect was cut out at the process pipeline of the Peschanokopskaya oil pumping station, and PIG traps were dismantled at the supply pipeline of the same OPS.

The works were performed as part of the comprehensive technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Volga Region. The goal is to ensure emergency-free operation and environmental safety of the oil trunk pipelines.

Over 180 specialists from the Samara, Buguruslan and Volgograd RPD were involved in the repairs, more than 65 pieces of equipment were used.

The oil pipelines are currently operating under the normal protocol.
