Transneft Volga Region has completed technological connection of the constructed sections to the reconstructed Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipelines at the Samara – Zenzevatka and Zenzevatka – 1,193 km sections, as well as the planned equipment connection and replacement. During the works, five sections of the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline with a total length of about 62.5 km were connected, 17 valves were replaced and repaired, defects at the process pipelines were cut out, two reservoirs under construction were connected to the process pipelines at the Company’s facilities in Samara, Saratov, Volgograd and Rostov Regions.
The large-scale works were carried out as part of Transneft Volga Region’s technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme during a scheduled 72-hour shutdown of the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline.
The goal is to ensure emergency-free operation and environmental safety of Transneft Volga Region’s oil trunk pipelines.
On the territory of Samara Region, two sections were connected at the oil pipeline with a total length of 6.94 km. At the Samara-1 oil pumping station (OPS), a collector of the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk booster station was connected, a duplicate gate valve of the Samara-1 oil pumping station tank farm’s feed header to the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk OPS was cut out. In addition, waste and receiving headers of vertical steel tank No. 4 of 20,000 m3 were connected to the process pipelines of the station.
In Saratov Region, at the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline, a section with a total length of 2.2 km was connected, two tees with gate valves were installed, one gate valve was replaced and three gate valves were repaired. Two gate valves were replaced at the Grachi-2 and Borodaevka-1 OPS, and so was one gate valve at the Ternovka and Krasnoarmeyskaya OPS.
In Volgograd and Rostov Regions, teams of the central maintenance division of the Volgograd Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate connected two sections at the Kuybyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP with a total length of 53.32 km, carried out a midlife repair of three gate valves, replaced two gate valves at the PIG trap.
In addition, at the Zenzevatka oil pumping station, a main pump unit was installed, two reverse valves were replaced and 20,000 m3 vertical steel tank No. 6 with a floating roof was connected to the process pipelines of the station. A newly constructed section of the supply oil pipeline was connected at the Yefimovka oil pumping station, a gate valve was replaced and two defects were cut out at the process pipelines of the Zimovniki oil pumping station, a bypass pipeline from the pipeline surge relief system (PSRS) was connected to the supply oil pipeline and a suction header was connected to the existing PSRS at the Peschanokopskaya oil pumping station.
41 maintenance crews, more than 760 specialists from the Samara, Buguruslan, Volgograd and Saratov RPD and 315 pieces of equipment were involved in the repairs. In particular, Transneft Urals, Transneft North, Transneft Druzhba, Transneft Central Siberia, and Chernomortransneft provided technical assistance.
Oil transportation was resumed on schedule and under the standard protocol.
