Transneft Volga Region has commissioned a fire water tank at the Pohvistnevo line operation dispatcher station and two tanks at the Pokrovskaya oil pumping station (OPS) in Samara Region.
The goal was to increase the fire safety of the pipeline transportation facilities.
A vertical steel tank (VST) of 1,000 m3 was constructed at the Pokhvistnevo LODS of the Buguruslan Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD), as well as two tanks with a volume of 2,000 m3 each at the Pokrovskaya oil pumping station of the Samara RPD.
The tanks were built instead of the old ones to store the required volumes of fire water, ensure the operability of the automatic fire-extinguishing system and the external fire water supply of the LODS and the OPS.
The tank construction began in March 2018. The new tanks were commissioned after successful hydraulic testing.
The set of works was performed within the programme for technical upgrading and revamping of Transneft Volga Region’s facilities.
