Transneft Volga Region Commissions Reservoir at Oil Blending Station in Samara Region

At an oil blending station (OBS) of the Samara site of the Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) of Transneft Volga Region, a vertical steel tank (VST) of 20,000 m3 has been commissioned. The tank is designed for oil storage and transportation process operations.

In accordance with the requirements of the design documentation, the metal structures and the foundation of the tank were completely dismantled, a new foundation was made, a tank was installed, the site was equipped with electric drive valves, electrochemical and lightning protection devices were mounted. The works to strengthen protective dikes and the tanks’ dyking were also conducted. Individual testing of engineering fire extinguishing systems was performed at the facility; power supply and automation networks were commissioned.

The construction of VST - 20,000 No. 31 at the OBS began in June 2018 under the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Volga Region’s facilities for 2018–2019. The aim was to ensure stable oil transportation through the oil trunk pipeline system.

At present, Transneft Volga Region has almost completed the construction and technical upgrading of the tanks at the Samara-1 and Samara-2 oil pumping stations (the Samara RPD), the Bavly and Krotovka line operation dispatcher stations (the Buguruslan RPD), as well as the Zenzevatka oil pumping station and the Efimovka LODS (the Volgograd RPD). In total, nine tanks are to be commissioned before the end of 2019.
