Transneft Volga Region has commissioned a welding building at the Central Production Service Shop (CPSS, Novokuibyshevsk).

The construction of the welding building began in the spring of 2018 and was carried out as part of Transneft Volga Region’s technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme for 2018–2019.

The goal is to modernise the operational facilities of the Central Production Service Shop, built in the late eighties, to ensure high quality of products, increase labour productivity and ensure comfortable working conditions.
The modern building is designed to operate up to 10 stations simultaneously, including two burning stations for large-dimensional products. Together with welding works, cutting of sheet and pipe products at plasma and laser cutting plants can be performed.

The building includes a welding shop, a compressor room, a storage room, sanitary facilities, auxiliary and administrative rooms. It is equipped with modern engineering and technical support systems, such as heating, ventilation with forced filtration, air conditioning, high-quality lighting, compressed air supply system, uninterruptible power supply equipment.

The welding building is part of the main production activities of the Central Production Service Shop. Both the initial processing of materials (cutting, welding and preliminary assembly of individual units) and the final assembly operations are performed here. Finished products, which are part of the range of products manufactured at the CPSS, are manufactured at other operational sections of the Company, including processing of semi-finished products obtained in the welding building.

For reference:
CPSS is a business unit of Transneft Volga Region. Specialists of CPSS manufacture products for Transneft subsidiaries and for third-party organisations that consume specialised engineering products intended for constructing and repairing oil pipelines. Currently, the range of products counts about 136 units.
