Transneft Volga Region has completed construction of a tank for oil storage at the Bolshaya Chernigovka oil pumping station (OPS) in Samara Region and put it into operation.
The construction of the vertical steel tank with a volume of 5 thousand cubic metres (VST-5000) began in 2018. The metal structures and the foundation of the tank were completely dismantled, a new foundation was made, the tank was installed, and the site was equipped with electric drive valves. Individual tests of engineering fire extinguishing systems were performed at the facility; power supply and automation networks were commissioned.
The works were conducted under the 2018–2019 technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Volga Region’s facilities. The aim was to ensure stable oil transportation through the oil trunk pipeline system.
