The employees of Transneft Volga Region participated in the events dedicated to the celebration of the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).
Representatives of various sections and divisions of the executive office and Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) of Transneft Volga Region attended the solemn meeting at Slavy sq. in Samara where the ceremony of laying flowers to the Eternal Flame and the high relief of the Grieving Motherland took place.
The employees of Volgograd RPD laid flowers and wreaths at the Eternal Flame in the Alley of Heroes and at the monument to Georgy Zhukov in Volgograd.
On the eve of the anniversary, young specialists from Transneft Volga Region together with representatives of social development divisions under regional oil pipeline directorates and trade union leaders visited war veterans formerly employed at the Company, congratulated them and presented gifts to them.
On 8 May, a festive event dedicated to the Victory Day was held at the Company's executive office. Young specialists of the Company greeted the veterans, while a brass band played songs and melodies of the war years, creating a special festive atmosphere. A field kitchen was open, and objects and weapons dating back to the Great Patriotic War were displayed.
Chief Engineer of Transneft Volga Region Andrey Tashchilin addressed the veterans with a welcoming speech: “Victory Day is one of the brightest and dearest holidays to all of us. On this day, we honour the memory of fallen heroes with special gratitude, and pay tribute to the veterans of war and labour, the legendary war time generation. We wish you health and many years of life!”
A concert with the participation of the Company’s young specialists and a festive tea party were organised for the guests.
On the Victory Day, employees of different business units of the Company, from Buguruslan to Rostov Region, took to the streets of their cities and towns, carrying portraits of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers in the column of the Immortal Regiment.
The relay of celebratory events will go on as part of Transneft Volga Region’s volunteer projects dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Support of elderly people is one of the priorities of Transneft Volga Region’s social policy. All the veterans and retirees of the Company are provided with social benefits and guarantees after their retirement as well. Transneft Volga Region covers the costs of inpatient treatment and medicines for them, issues health resort vouchers and provides other financial aid.
Transneft Volga Region also sponsors veteran organisations as part of its corporate charitable programme.
