Buguruslan RPD’s Specialists Teach Occupational Health to Schoolchildren

Representatives of Buguruslan Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) of Transneft Volga Region have held a lesson in occupational health for pupils of school No. 3 of the city of Buguruslan.

It was one of the events of the Year of Occupational Safety announced at Transneft, also going in line with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

The lesson was aimed at promoting essential aspects of occupational health and safety of employees at the facilities of Transneft Volga Region. During the interactive lesson, which was also intended to provide occupational guidance, the students were introduced to occupational health activities at an industrial enterprise.

OHSE Specialist of Buguruslan RPD Aleksandr Kirpichev told the students about constant monitoring of compliance with occupational health requirements at the Company’s facilities and explained how the employees themselves were involved in maintaining occupational safety. He answered the students’ questions and told them about personnel training and instructions, occupational health audits and dedicated working conditions assessments.

Transneft Volga Region has a number of events scheduled for 2019 within the Year of Occupational Safety, including open lessons for high school and university students and competitions among employees and their children. Meetings with personnel are held, and a series of articles on this subject is being published in order to share best occupational health practices.

Transneft Volga Region is also interacting with school No. 3 of the city of Buguruslan in the field of charity.  in 2018, the Company renovated exact sciences classrooms at the school, having installed laboratory and demonstration equipment, as part of Transneft’s school education development programme. Windows, doors and power supply lines were replaced, and ceilings, floors, and walls were renovated in the classrooms. Furniture, interactive boards, computer equipment, textbooks and multimedia equipment were purchased with the funds allocated by the Company.
