Date of publication: 07 May 2019

Transneft Volga Region has finished its scheduled repairs of oil trunk pipelines (OTP) and facilities belonging to Saratov and Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates (RPD).

Samara RPD’s specialists installed a mainline pump unit at Sovkhoznaya-3 oil pumping station (PS), and Saratov RPD’s specialists replaced four gate valves at Borodayevka-2 PS. The works took 72 hours and required a reduced oil transportation mode within the Samara – Krasnyi Yar section of the Kuibyshev – Lisichansk OTP.

The team of the production service shop at Saratov RPD performed midlife repair of a gate valve at the underwater crossing of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP across the Bolshoi Irgiz River; for this purpose, a reduced oil pumping mode within the Samara – Zenzevatka section was introduced.  The works lasted for 45 hours.

All the works were performed as part of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme implemented at Transneft Volga Region to upgrade the equipment and ensure reliability of the operation of oil trunk pipelines. The oil pipelines are currently operating under the normal protocol.
