Transneft Volga Region has held an Occupational Safety Day for the staff of its business units. The event was scheduled to coincide with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work and held as part of the Year of Occupational Safety announced at Transneft in 2019.
Its intent was to support the employees in their aspiration to comply with safety regulations and to promote positive industrial practices.
An annual contest was held for the fifth time, traditionally engaging representatives of all the branches of Transneft Volga Region, including Buguruslan, Samara, Volgograd and Saratov Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates (RPD) as well as the Central Production Service Shop (CPSS). Each of the five teams was warmly supported by their fans.
The winners among teams and individuals were determined according to the results of twelve special competitions: “I am Using Personal Protective Equipment”, “Best Occupational Safety Slogan”, “Occupational Safety Rules”, “Best Humorous Video on Occupational Safety”, “Giving First Aid”, “Identifying Violations”, “Complying with Traffic Rules”, “Initial Instruction Programme”, “Admission to Work”, “The Power of Electricity” and “The Safe Path”.
The Contest Committee declared Saratov RPD the winner among teams. The teams of Volgograd and Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates took second and the third place respectively.
The results of Transneft Volga Region’s 2018 Best Occupational Safety Business Unit competition were also announced during the Occupational Safety Day. Pokrovskaya oil pumping station, a business unit of Samara RPD, won first place by the results it demonstrated in the field of occupational safety. The personnel of the business unit were awarded with a challenge cup.
Sergey Fokin, Foreman of the tank farm at Samara RPD’s oil blending station became the winner of the occupational safety professional knowledge contest and was awarded with a diploma.
