Transneft Volga Region Completes Scheduled Repairs at Oil Trunk Pipelines

Transneft Volga Region has completed repairs of the line and on-site objects of oil trunk pipelines (OTP) in the area of responsibility of Buguruslan and Samara regional oil pipeline directorates (RPD).

During the planned shutdown of the Buguruslan – Syzran and Krotovka – Kuybyshev OTPs, four sections with corrosive damage and two air escape valves were cut out and midlife repairs of a gate valve were performed on the line. At the same time, a set of works was carried out at onsite facilities: midlife repairs of nine gate valves were carried out at Pokhvistnevo line operation dispatcher station (LODS) and two gate valves were replaced at Krotovka LODS.

During the planned 60-hour shutdown of the Bavly – Kuybyshev and Pokrovka – Krotovka-2 OTPs, maintenance divisions of Buguruslan RPD carried out midlife repairs of a gate valve at Bavly LODS, midlife repairs of six gate valves and replacement of three gate valves at Krotovka LODS; a substandard gate valve was cut out of the line.

During the shutdown of the Samara – Lopatino OTP, a defect on the process pipeline was cut out and midlife repairs of three gate valves were carried out at Samara-1 PS.

The work was carried out as part of the comprehensive programme of technical upgrading by line maintenance teams of the oil pumping stations and central maintenance divisions of the Company. The purpose of the work was to achieve higher operational reliability and environmental safety of oil trunk pipelines’ facilities of Transneft Volga Region.

Pumping of oil has been resumed as scheduled, the oil pipelines are now functioning under normal conditions.
