Transneft Volga Region has completed large-scale planned works at the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk, Almetievsk – Kuibyshev-2 and Zhirnovsk – Volgograd oil trunk pipelines (OTP) and at operating facilities of Samara, Saratov and Volgograd Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates (RPD).
During a planned shutdown of oil pumping through the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP, which lasted for 72 hours, specialists of Samara RPD installed main pump unit (MPU) No. 2 and cut off dead-end sections with three gate valves at a discharge collector of Samara-1 oil pumping station (PS) at the Samara – Zenzevatka section. Two gate valves were replaced and a bypass line of the pressure control unit were replaced at Sovkhoznaya-2 PS. Four air escape valves on the line were eliminated by installing repair structures.
Volgograd RPD’s specialists cut two defects out of the line and carried out midlife repair of a gate valve at the underwater crossing of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP of the Malaya Kuberle River (main leg). MPU No. 4 was cut out for subsequent replacement at Zenzevatka PS.
Specialists of Saratov RPD’s maintenance division carried out the bulk of the work during the planned shutdown at operating facilities. Three gate valves were replaced, bypass lines with gate valves on a mud trap filter and a pressure control unit were eliminated at Borodayevka-1 PS. Bypass lines of pressure control units were eliminated, midlife repairs were carried out, a defect was cut out of the line at Ternovka-1 and Grachi-2 PSs.
During the scheduled shutdown of the Almetievsk – Kuibyshev-2 OTP, specialists disconnected a pressure collector of sweet crude pump-out at Samara-1 PS from the decommissioned booster pump house of oil blending station and cut a defect out of a process pipeline. The repairs took 72 hours to finish.
During the planned 48-hour shutdown of the Zhirnovsk – Volgograd OTP, the maintenance division specialists of Volgograd RPD cut three defects out of the Kuzmichi – Volgograd Refinery oil pipeline.
All the planned repairs were carried out as part of the comprehensive technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme being implemented by Transneft Volga Region to maintain the standard operating parameters of oil trunk pipelines. Technical assistance to the specialists of central maintenance division of Samara, Saratov and Volgograd RPDs was provided by the teams of Transneft Druzhba and Transneft Upper Volga.
Oil transportation via Transneft Volga Region’s OTPs was resumed according to the schedule.
