Date of publication: 07 March 2019

Transneft Volga Region has commissioned 12 new mainline pump units (MPU) at operating facilities.

The commissioning of the pump equipment with improved quality and energy efficiency indicators was carried out as part of the programme of technical upgrading and revamping. In 2019, it is planned to replace 20 main and booster pump units with modern ones.

Mainline pump units were replaced in Buguruslan, Saratov and Volgograd Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates (RPD). All equipment was manufactured at Transneft Oil Pumps (TOP, Chelyabinsk), a special plant for production of mainline pumps and electric pump units.

At the commissioned facilities, foundations of the pump units were completed, and auxiliary pipelines were replaced. The equipment of automated process control systems (sensors, instruments, cables and wiring) was updated.

In addition, at Samara-1 oil pumping station of Samara RPD, four MPUs were replaced in the mainline pump house of the Kuibyshev – Unecha oil trunk pipeline, and three MPUs were replaced in the mainline pump house of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline. Their commissioning is scheduled for the second and fourth quarters of the current year.

The use of the new pump units will ensure uninterrupted and reliable transportation of oil through Transneft Volga Region’s oil trunk pipeline system.
