Transneft Volga Region Sums Up Results of Charitable Activities in 2018

In 2018, Transneft Volga Region allocated more than RUB 200 million for charitable assistance in the areas of its operation.

As part of its charitable programme, the Company rendered assistance to children’s educational institutions, sports, veterans’ and religious organisations as well as local government bodies.

Rendering assistance to schools and pre-school educational institutions of settlements located near the Company’s operational facilities is one of the important spheres of Transneft Volga Region’s charitable programme. In 2018, Transneft Volga Region allocated funds for construction of two children's playgrounds in Khvorostyansky and Kinelsky Districts of Samara Region, for replacement of the heating system in the Zolotoi Klyuchik nursery school No. 9 in Zhirnovsky municipal district of Volgograd Region and for replacement of windows in Mankovsky nursery school in Chertkovsky District, Rostov Region. Funds were allocated to purchase furniture for pre-school groups of three educational institutions in Olkhovsky Municipal District of Volgograd Region and to repair the roof of secondary school No. 2 in Bavly, the Republic of Tatarstan.

As part of Transneft‘s corporate charitable programme for the development of school education for 2017–2019, charitable assistance for the total amount of  RUB 33.2 million was provided to secondary school No. 3 located in the city of Buguruslan, Orenburg Region, as well as to schools of Prosvet Settlement, Volzhsky District, and Progress Settlement, Khvorostyansky District, the school of Domashka Settlement in Kinelsky District and school No. 1 named after I. M. Kuznetsov in Bolshaya Chernigovka Settlement, Samara Region. Windows, doors and power supply lines were replaced; ceiling, floors and walls were repaired in mathematics, physics and chemistry classrooms. Laboratories were repaired. Furniture, interactive boards, computer equipment, textbooks and multimedia equipment were purchased with the funds allocated by the Company.

Important charitable projects of 2018 included financing the construction of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Volgograd. The project has been implemented under an agreement with the administration of Volgograd Region since 2017.
In addition, Transneft Volga Region allocated about RUB 11 million for the organisation of cultural events in Samara City District as part of the City Day 2018 celebration, New Year and Christmas holidays.

As part of an agreement with the administration of Rostov Region, a football stadium was built in Peschanokopskoye Settlement in 2018. In Rostov-on-Don, roof was overhauled at Rostovsky-Na-Donu Akademichesky Molodyozhny Teatr (the Rostov-on-Don Academic Youth Theater) municipal autonomous cultural institution. New chairs and equipment were also purchased for the theater, whose building is an object of cultural heritage of the XIX century.

Within an agreement with the administration of Saratov Region, RUB 50 million were allocated for the overhaul of the Protivotuberkulyozny Sanatory Dlya Detei (Tuberculosis Rehabilitation Centre for Children) State Healthcare Institution of Saratov Region. Two dormitories of the rehabilitation centre were repaired using the Company’s funds: their roofs and the entrance areas were renovated, and all the premises were repaired. The school for children treated at the  rehabilitation centre was also repaired. The territory surrounding the children's rehabilitation centre was also landscaped.  After the completion of the repairs in late December, the centre welcomed first groups of children coming in for recovery.

At the end of last year, the Company allocated funds to landscape the Victory Park in the settlement of Krasnoarmeiskoye of Krasnoarmeisky Municipal District, Samara Region, and to repair the Uzmorsky culture centre in Saratov Region. Computer equipment will be acquired for the school of social activity of Kotovsky district organisation of war and labour veterans (pensioners), veterans of the Armed Forces and law enforcement authorities in Volgograd Region. Revamping and landscaping of central squares in the city of Buguruslan and Privozhye Settlement in Samara Region will also begin. These and other charitable projects will be implemented in 2019.
