Transneft Volga Region takes part in occupational health and safety forum

On 16–17 May 2018, Transneft Volga Region employees took part in a sectoral OHS (occupational health and safety) forum hosted by Expo-Volga, an exhibition centre in Samara. The forum was arranged by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Migration Policy of Samara Region.

The forum agenda included a regional occupational safety conference, the Technosphere Safety R2P conference of young scientists and professionals, an occupational safety skills competition among businesses of Samara Region and a Development and Adoption of a Corporate Occupational Health Management System Based on a Process Model presentation workshop.

The event also included an award ceremony for the winners of the 10th regional best working conditions and OHS corporate policies in Samara Region contest.

Transneft Volga Region claimed 3rd place in the Best OHS Corporate Policies in the Manufacturing Sphere (Companies with over 500 Employees) category.

Transneft Volga Region’s combined team, made up by OHS professionals from regional oil pipeline directorates and the central production service shop, claimed victory in the OHS skills contest for companies of Samara region.

“Zero occupational injuries and diseases is the main criterion for evaluating performance in the OHS field. Such a result can only be achieved by engaging personnel in the OHS management process. Transneft Volga Region has implemented a set of OHS management measures, including occupational safety training and emergency response drills for employees,” said Aleksandr Feoktistov, Head of the Company’s OHS Department.
