Andrey Malykhin, Senior Foreman of the Machinery and Repair Shop at the Central Production Service Shop (CPSS) of Transneft Volga Region, has been awarded a certificate for his innovation proposal of ice cutter modernisation.
Mr. Malykhin improved the device, which will radically cut down the emergency response time at water crossings in winter. The innovative solution optimised the machine’s design to the maximum, enhancing its operational efficiency.
Prior to the ice cutter modernization, it took quite a long time to carry out its technological preparation. The cumbersome structure was difficult to transport and slow to set up. The upgraded ice cutter has smaller dimensions, along with an advanced design of the power and control cabinet.
The author of the ice cutter revamping points out that the main goal of his project is increasing the cutter’s competitiveness, improving its operational qualities and, as a result, reducing the cost of the product, which is manufactured by CPSS.
The Regulations on innovation activities at Transneft Volga Region were approved in November 2016. The Company’s technical board reviews applications for innovations on a quarterly basis. Upon the innovation proposal implementation, its author is paid remuneration. This is the second time the Company awards its employee such a certificate.
