Transneft Volga Region has completed scheduled works within the scope of the integrated technical upgrading programme in the linear portion of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk oil trunk pipeline (OTP) and at oil pumping stations (PSs) of the Saratov and Volgograd regional oil pipeline directorates (RPDs).

During a 72-hour-long planned shutdown of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP, professionals of Saratov RPD connected Borodayevka-1 pumping station (PS) to a new microprocessor-based automation system. The work was carried out under the project on technical upgrading of the plant control system (PCS).

Within the scope of replacing makeshift pipeline clean-up and inspection gadget (PIG) traps with factory-made ones, three industrially manufactured PIG traps were connected at the 432nd km of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP.

New pipeline surge relief system tanks were connected at Karaichevo PS of Volgograd RPD. A newly-made crossing over a small waterway of the Erik River (DN 800 mm, located at the 970th km) was connected in the linear portion of the Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk OTP.

The work was performed by line maintenance crews of oil pumping stations and central maintenance divisions of the Samara, Buguruslan, Saratov and Volgograd RPDs in order to maintain high functional reliability of oil trunk pipelines operated by Transneft Volga Region. The oil pumping via the trunk pipeline has been resumed as scheduled.
