Construction of a boiler house is completed at the Pokrovskaya oil pump station (PS), Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD). The work was carried out within the scope of the Technical Upgrading Programme of Transneft Volga Region for 2017.

The old boiler house at the Pokrovskaya PS operated only on oil and was used without interruption since 1983.  The new boiler house is a factory-assembled heat power hub, which has started providing heat for consumers upon its installation, assembly and connection to the fuel supply system. The main fuel for the new boiler house is oil and diesel fuel is used as a reserve type of fuel.

Construction of the boiler house was completed in four months. The boiler house consists of two modules and is equipped with energy efficient equipment: there is a 2 MW water-heating boiler in each module.

As Artem Chernov, engineer of the RPD’s Chief Power Engineer Section, explained, the total capacity of the boiler house is 4 MW, which is sufficient to provide heat for the PS and residents of Privolnyy settlement in Bezenchuk district, Samara Region. The boiler house is equipped with a modern automation and control safety system which ensures its proper functioning and an opportunity to exercise remote control of its operation. Any deviation from the parameters established for the boiler house is immediately reported to the boiler house staff.

The new boiler house will help to reduce consumption of energy resources, minimize pollutant emissions and improve the hygiene and sanitary conditions for the operations personnel of the station.

The enterprise applies the energy management system and carries out its continuous improvement, this system being certified according to the international standard ISO 50001:2011.
