Transneft Volga Region, JSC Carried out Large-Scale Works during the Planned Stop of the Kuibyshev-Tikhoretsk and Zhirnovsk-Volgograd OTP

Transneft Volga carried out large-scale planned repair works on the oil trunk pipelines (OTP) Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk and Zhirnovsk – Volgograd. The works involved over 800 people and 387 units of special-purpose machinery and equipment.

During the scheduled shutdown of oil trunk pipelines from August 7 to 9, 2017, five shut-off valves were replaced and sixteen valves went through medium repairs at the linear part of the pipelines and at oil pumping stations OPS), two defective sections were cut out and seven sections of pipes were replaced, twelve pressure compensators for wedge gate valves were mounted. In addition, more work was done in accordance with the maintenance schedule of oil pipelines aimed at improving the reliability of trunk pipelines and OPS.

At Samara-1 OPS of the Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD), collectors of supply and distribution nozzles (SDN) were connected to two constructed tanks No. 16 and 17 with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters each. The collectors for receiving and discharging oil from tank No. 4 were disconnected. In the Kuibyshev-Tikhoretsk main line pump station, main pump unit No. 1 (MPU) was installed.

In Saratov RPD, oil discharge lines were connected to the steel spring safety valve (SSSV) units of the Ternovka-1 and Borodaevka-1 OPS.

In Volgograd RPD, the third stage of technological pipelines replacement with further connection to the Kuibyshev-Tikhoretsk OTP was completed at the Zimovniki OPS, and OTP No. 2.

All planned work was carried out by the workers of the linear emergency services of oil pumping stations and the central repair services (CRS) of Samara, Buguruslan, Saratov and Volgograd RPD. The works were carried out simultaneously on 29 sites, including 11 pits. Support was provided by a technical assistance brigade of Transneft North CRS, Transneft Vostok and three brigades from Transneft Ural.

21 brigades were involved in the repair works. The works at the OTP and OPS were carried out within the framework of the comprehensive program of technical re-equipment, reconstruction and major repairs of Transneft Volga Region planned for 2017.

The oil trunk pipelines Kuibyshev – Tikhoretsk and Zhirnovsk – Volgograd are put into operation in accordance with the schedule.
