Transneft Volga Region, JSC Employees Trained on New Electrometric Measurement Testing Area

Transneft Volga Region, JSC employees were trained on a new electrometric measurement testing area. In Novokuibyshevsk training facility (making part of Transneft Volga Region, JSC), a group of 38 employees of the enterprise underwent training in the specialization of Fitter for Anti-Corrosion Underground Pipeline Protection on the testing area built in 2015.
The new testing area is fitted up with modern metering and diagnostic stations and equipment. A 500 mm pipe is laid down under the ground of the testing area and imitates the oil pipeline that crosses the gas pipeline and also the highway. The metering and diagnostic equipment in the pipeline create different situations for training purposes, e.g. insulation fault. During training, the necessary application is assigned from the trainer’s workstation and the student should solve it within allocated time.
The testing area enables to master and refine the skills of maintenance and adjustment of the cathode protection station, of the protective current control. In addition, handling of search equipment is trained in the testing area. Using state-of-the-art digital equipment, assemblers determine the specific resistance of soil and current spreading resistance from anode ground terminal.
The new testing area is the fourth in the system of Transneft, JSC subsidiaries. Similar testing areas are based in Uhta, Tyumen, and Kanash.

Established in 1974, it is engaged in training, additional training and further training of workers and specialists of Transneft, JSC system.
