Representatives of Chevron, a U.S. corporation, visited Transneft Volga Region, JSC facilities on 29 September 2015. The event was held as part of Transneft, JSC and Chevron cooperation program. The U.S. specialists examined Transneft Volga Region, JSC tank farm in the village of Prosvet, Samara Region. The tank farm is the biggest in Europe, with the aggregate capacity of 1.6 million cubic meters. The delegation was advised about the stages and particular features of modern tank construction during the tour of the tank farm.
The special focus was on the new equipment manufactured as part of the import substitution program. Chevron representatives examined a developmental prototype of a mobile facility for tank cleaning of bottom deposits. This equipment was designed and manufactured by Transneft R&D, LLC, together with Transneftemash Factory of Velikiye Luki (makes part of Transneft Upper Volga, JSC). The facility is intended to remove bottom deposits from all types of steel vertical tanks used to store oil and refined products and ranging from 1,000 to 50,000 cubic meters.
The Chevron delegation’s visit finished with a business meeting at the Transneft Volga Region, JSC office where the companies’ representatives discussed topical issues of further cooperation.
