On 27 August 2015, Transneft Volga Region, JSC conducted comprehensive emergency response drills at the Saratov regional oil pipeline department. The drills were held in line with the plan of major actions in civil defense and emergency prevention and response.
The purpose of the drills was to practice the hands-on skills of emergency containment and prevention using the forces and equipment available at the branch and checking of the emergency oil spill response plan.
Under the comprehensive drills scenario, a man-caused emergency had occurred — an oil release at the 454th km of the Kuibyshev-Lisichansk oil trunk pipeline.
Engaged in the activity were 50 employees of the Saratov RPD and 20 vehicles.
Based on the drills results, the emergency response committee and observers, including officials of the Saratov Regional Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia and administration of the Krasnoarmeisk district of Saratov region, emphasized concerted efforts of the Saratov RPD. The observers presented no remarks, and arrangements for elimination of a simulated emergency were recognized satisfactory.
